now for the racer...........

1st order of business is cleaning the crap out of those carbs! after 27,000 miles and sitting around for a few years, they've built up quite a bit of varnish..

this is a fairly tedious and smelly process. watch out for filling the garage with the fumes from carb cleaner, and make sure you stay sober enough to keep all the parts with the right carb, keep everything organized, and put it all back together the way you found it..if not better.

who comes up with this shit? the engineers that design this crap must be aliens because they've dreamt up a system for delivering air and fuel to the combustion chamber unlike anything a human could think of. don't get me wrong, i think they're fuckin genius.


So now for a sneak peak at the upcoming plans for this cafe.... a conical fiberglass tail cone not unlike this one, that turns it into a one seater and adds tons and tons of style.. if only i had four into two exhaust, i'd upsweep the pipes like this, too.. (what a beautiful ride, if anyone's interested, i'll post the full picture of this bike...)


So then, i'll take one of these way cool old caddy taillights and fashion it right in there to complete the cone.. one sweeping cone section that works its way, as seemlessly as i can get it, to the tip of this caddy lens..
